Brighid Paint by Number

The paint by number of Brighid is coming right along. I worked on it some last night while listening to the thunder outside.

Before bed, I lit a small candle and watched it until it burned out. Today is the new moon, and a solar eclipse on top of it. I didn't want to do any kind of major ritual around this event, so I thought that a simple candle meditation last night would suffice.

As I watched the candle flame dance, I could see the shadows moving around it. This reminded me of the dark moon and the aspects of that nature. Light is needed to see the shadows, and the darkness is needed to see the light. The flame was dancing with the shadows. It's important to not only focus on the light. Times of darkness, such as the new moon, can lead us to see parts of ourselves and nature that we would normally not pay attention to.

This new moon, I will be reflecting on what aspects of my spirit that I keep in the shadows and how the light helps those become visible. What are you going to reflect on during this dark time?
