Painting Update
The paint by number is growing, slowly, but surely. I'm still really enjoying this and really like how it is looking. I am trying to intentionally meditate while working on this and it's been a very calming experience. I also spent some time outside last night as well as time with Delilah, who was especially needy last night. She and I played with her new favorite toy, which happens to be one of my shoes. She is obsessed with this shoe and it cracks me up. I finally got s

Solar Eclipse
Yesterday was a total solar eclipse over parts of Europe. In my area, we had a partial, but it was storming for a good chunk of the day, so I couldn't go out and see what the eclipse looked like through the leaves like I did during the last partial solar eclipse in the area in 2017. The photo below does not belong to me, and if you want to check out the gallery that it came from, here is the link. Instead, I lit a small candle at my desk around the time of the eclipse in Ic

Brighid Paint by Number
The paint by number of Brighid is coming right along. I worked on it some last night while listening to the thunder outside. Before bed, I lit a small candle and watched it until it burned out. Today is the new moon, and a solar eclipse on top of it. I didn't want to do any kind of major ritual around this event, so I thought that a simple candle meditation last night would suffice. As I watched the candle flame dance, I could see the shadows moving around it. This remind

Druid's Prayer for Peace
With the events in Colombia yesterday, I was reminded of the Druid Prayer for Peace. In this time, let's all radiate peace to those who were affected by this horrible disaster. Do what you can, share what you can, and send peace and love to the people in Colombia who are suffering after the devastating earthquake. Deep within the still center of my being, may I find peace. Silently, within the quiet of the grove, may I share peace. Gently, within the greater circle of human

A Brighid Paint by Number
I was able to find a Brighid paint by number kit online last month and decided it was time to work on it this weekend. I was wiped out after the first move-in, but working on the painting really revived my spirits. As I worked on the painting, I chanted a simple prayer. Lady of the sacred flame, hear us as we call your name. Sometimes just a simple chant like that can help bring your mind into focus. It certainly did for me this weekend. On Sunday, Brian and I went shopp

Grounding and Dreamwork
Last night I needed to spend some time on the back porch relaxing and listening to the sounds of nature around me. I finished my bardic coursework on the OBOD site yesterday at lunch and now am entering a contemplative time where I will write about my experiences on the bardic grade. I decided that a good way to ground myself before beginning any of this would be to sit in the hammock and look at the trees and bird flying by. It was a very calming moment. Before bed, I dra

Gifts from Nature
I was mowing the yard last night, which is one of my least favorite things to do. I find that it disturbs wildlife and the spirit of the land since it stops a natural growing process. But, in the midst of mowing, I found two gifts left for me from my animal friends. The walnut was found first. I don't have any walnut trees in my yard, so I imagine that a squirrel friend found it and brought it to the yard and then saw the bird feeders which are a much easier meal. When I

Buck Moon
Last night was the full buck moon and I went out to take a look to commune with her, but sadly I could not see the moon at the time due to hazy clouds. When I was looking down from the back porch though, I realized I was being watched. Sometimes you have one intention and then the divine has a different direction for you to go. I truly felt blessed by this visit last night and was reminded that if you are open to receiving, the gifts of the divine are all around you. All i

Welcome to Kentucky Druid!
Welcome to my little space on the interwebs. My name is Leah and I am a member of the Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids, nearly completed with my Bardic work. I love nature, love this earth, and love all things divine and spiritual. So why am I here? I'm here to share my passions with the world. I'm here to talk about druidry, nature, and how it ties into everyday lives. I also make a ton of stuff, so I'll be selling things to help fund this site and my crafting obsessi
