Solar Eclipse

Yesterday was a total solar eclipse over parts of Europe. In my area, we had a partial, but it was storming for a good chunk of the day, so I couldn't go out and see what the eclipse looked like through the leaves like I did during the last partial solar eclipse in the area in 2017. Instead, I lit a small candle at my desk around the time of the eclipse in Iceland to honor the light that blesses us, even when it is dark outside. I was reminded of a song by Disturbed that I listen to often called The Light. If you've never heard it before, here is a link to the music video, which is very touching.

Sometimes we need the darkness to remind us that there is light in all of us. Sometimes a major heavenly event like a solar eclipse is needed in the world because for a brief moment, we all look to the heavens and stand in awe of the power of nature. It causes us to remember that there are things beyond our control, forces that are bigger than us, and a power in nature that cannot be denied.
